The position falls within the Development department.
Work is performed under the broad direction of the Chief Philanthropy Officer, with most of the work performed independently.
This role will work alongside the Development Manager and Director of Corporate Partnerships and participate in all aspects of the relationship-based funding model with the entire philanthropy team.
The Grants & Foundations Manager will identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned organizational priorities, with a focus on both operational & capital needs.
The individual will coordinate the development, writing and submission of grant proposals to third-party public and private sources.
The position is also responsible for submitting impact reports to any grant-making organization that has provided funding to LOGAN.
Essential Functions Based on the relationship-based funding model concept of impact driving income; actively participate in regular weekly team meetings, conduct call plans, complete call memos, etc.
Research, identify, develop, and prepare requests to public, corporate, and private funders whose priorities align with LOGAN's Advocacy, Resource and Service roles.
Responsible for the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals.
Perform prospect research to evaluate prospects for funding opportunities; specifically for initiatives tied to LOGAN's 75th Anniversary Campaign.
Generate creative solutions, translate concepts, and demonstrate attention to detail; analyze complex and diverse information to choose the most creative solution for presenting the grant proposal.
Record grant prospects, activity and status of proposals, reports, etc.
in LOGAN's donor database - Bloomerang.
Develop and cultivate donor relationships with funders.
Gain a complete understanding of the LOGAN programs for which funding is being sought by meeting with program directors, Chief Executive Officer, and the Chief Financial Officer.
Work with the Finance Dept and the Chief Financial Officer to gather the financial information necessary to complete grant requests.
Comply with all grant reporting requirements, meeting all deadlines.
Meet regularly with program staff and directors to identify their needs and capture the storytelling of LOGAN's mission.
Provide stewardship to donors by providing regular, written updates of the impact of their funding and engage donors in tours, events, stewardship activities, etc.
Maintain a calendar of grant cycles and provide regular reports of activities to the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.
Continue to enhance skills in all aspects of fund development through appropriate training opportunities.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Possess strong written communication skills including the ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
Ability to write factually accurate proposals free of grammatical and spelling errors.
Has strong time management skills to manage multiple grants within a deadline-driven time period; possess sound planning and organizational skills that allow for the prioritization of tasks and the effective use of time and resources.
Demonstrates willingness to build trusting and respectful relationships with program staff and learn about our industry and programs.
Provides a high level of integrity and dependability with strong sense urgency; results-oriented; embraces accountability.
QUALIFICATIONSEducationBachelor's Degree with preferred emphasis in writing and/or communication.
ExperienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience in grant and/or proposal writing, preferably in the non-profit sector; a demonstrated track record of success.
Abilities, Interests, and Aptitudes Must be able to communicate well with donors.
Display original thinking and creativity through innovative approaches and ideas.
Ability to articulate the stories of LOGAN.
Maximize donor relationships to present and ask for investment opportunities.
Work both independently and with others in collaborative, team-based fund development approach.
Conduct donor and prospect research.
Possess an understanding or ability to learn Bloomerang, DonorSearch and other fund development technology systems.
Ability to navigate research resources such as GuideStar, Grants.
gov, and foundationcenter.
org.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
